Community Service

Introduction

In 2006-2007, the Seattle International Rotary Club is busy with several projects designed to help those in need and to enhance livability in our community.  Here’s just a sample of what's happening.

Bailey Gatzert Elementary School - Our club is continuing our long-term efforts to enhance the learning experience for students of our “adopted-partner” school.  We are supporting  their year round  reading programs, assisting with the summer bookmobile and many other educational endeavors.

Food for the Hungry - Our club supports Rotary First Harvest by purchasing gift certificates to honor our luncheon speakers.  We also do hands-on food sorting and packing throughout the year.

Clothing for those in Need - We are once again adopting a family to provide clothing and other items.  This is also an opportunity for our club members to individually contribute either clothes or make a cash donation.

Hands on Volunteers - We are providing numerous opportunities for club members to work on community projects to enhance our community’s livability.  Projects for this year include: Habitat for Humanity, ID/Chinatown Spring Cleanup, Pioneer Square Cleanup, Legacy House senior citizens programs, and the CISC Winterfest Books for Holidays.

For more information, contact Community Services Co-Chairs Paul Mar or Shannon Woodman.
